Heaven’s Gate: The Musical is a dark comedy/rock and roll musical loosely based on the Heaven’s Gate suicide cult of 1997.

Gabe, a young and naïve teenager from Utah, is sucked into the world of Heaven’s Gate – a cult that believes an alien spacecraft is hiding behind the Hale Bopp comet, waiting to take them to the gates of heaven.

Brainwashed and confused, Gabe and the other cult members commit mass suicide in order to “shed their human containers,” so that their souls can be transported aboard the alien ship.

The world is shocked. It’s another cautionary tale of a dangerous cult that ended in tragedy and death.

Right?

Wrong.

Gabe and the cult have made it onto the ship. They were right all along.
